My Left Leg - A Walk with Lymphedema

It's the weekend and I would say that I'm ready...but I'm not. I will spend the weekend tending to my legs. I went on a short trip last week (3 hours each way) and I am now paying the price for fun. As you may have guessed, I did not wrap my legs. So, tonight I will go through the arduous task of wrapping. Right now I think I'm going to do both legs, but I'm sure I'll feel differently in a few hours.

I may be able to go out to a movie or something but who knows. I am not feeling very optimistic or happy about this, but it has to be done.
I noticed that I am beginning to take too much pain medication. Initially my feeling was; it is over the counter so it should be ok, but too much of anything is not good for you (me). So my goal is to decrease if not eliminate all of it (meds). I was prescribed Oxycodone for severe pain, to be taken as needed. I am actually afraid of this prescription, terrified of becoming addicted; so I chose to take over the counter pills instead. I guess somewhere in my sick head I felt my way was safer.

My goal this weekend is to do whatever it takes to feel better next week. As of right now that looks like, proper leg care ( MLD, wrapping, moisturizing etc.) and rest. Hopefully I will begin the next week feeling a lot better.
