"Life"

Experiences are one of the most important aspects of life. Everyday I am reminded of how very blessed I am but what happened this week took me for a loop.

I work for a non-profit food distribution network that distributes over 10,000 packages of food in the community monthly, with the exception of November where we distributed approximately 21,000 packages of food. Partially due to thanksgiving and partially due to the economy.

What would ordinarily be a wonderful, rewarding experience, this year was almost depressing. We received more calls than we could handle from parents who just wanted to provide a decent meal for their kids. Some crying and begging, while others asked for hand outs as if it was their right as a United States citizen. So I ask...is it a right as a citizen?

In this United States of America there is no reason why any child should be hungry yet each year it gets worst and the need grows stronger. The more people I help, the more people need. These two hands can do but so much, yet what they do is never enough.

Lately I have been saying to my co-laborers pray for the nation...it's not a joke we have to pray for "our" nation. People are suffering, people are hungry and people are hurting. This can be turned around with our help it can be turned around.
