My Left Leg-A walk with Lymphedema
It's about 96 degrees outside, with the humidity it feels like 100 degrees. Not a breeze to be found. Instead of wiggling my toes, they are "compressed." This has to be one of the worst feelings. What's ironic is the summer before my diagnosis I just started feeling comfortable wearing sandals and flip flops, As soon as I really got into it, and started enjoying the styles it ended with a single word - lymphedema. It is so hot. The stockings are thick and at times miserable. But I wear them for it is a necessity. So no Capri's, no flip, flops and no free toes. And that's my summertime blues.
