My left Leg - A walk with Lymphedema

Well the beat goes on! Due to unending pain, I recently visited an orthopedic surgeon, the visit ended with me getting a steroid injection in my right knee (danger, danger Will Robinson). After reviewing my charts he quickly came to the conclusion that surgery was inevitable. Not....so....fast, that's a problem. I have been strongly advised not to have any "cuts, punctures or intrusive procedures on my leg in fact I have to be extremely careful about something as small as a mosquito bite.

So I hit the phones and called the one professional person that I trust...my physical therapist. This baffled her as well prompting her to consult her colleagues.

So this is the new plan. I was told to put a warm compress on the back of my leg (where the cyst is) not hot, just warm and use a vibrating massager to try and move the fluid upwards. She also gave me information for a Lymphedema Center in Towson, MD. To say that I am frustrated is an understatement! There has to be an end to this pain. Healing long overdue.

I have not lost faith, I have not lost my since of humor and I have not lost hope. I'm pressing on. I know there is something in this for me. It's either right in the middle or at the end of the tunnel, but I assure you...I will come out victorious! WATCH ME!!!
