I thank God for the people that he has placed in my life. As I look back I think about people that crossed my path for one reason or another and lessons that I may have learned from them. If you are reading this blog as a person that lives with lymphedema, you know what I am talking about when I speak about the pain that I am in so frequently.
After watching and listening to my moans and groans a friend invited me to Walter Reid Army Medical Hospital in Washington, DC (where she work). She assured me that I would feel better within the first 10 minutes of entering the facility, she was so sure of this because she knew I would see the many people who are without limbs (legs and arms) due to war injuries. I declined, it wasn't necessary, I got the picture and I understood completely that I am blessed. Another important person in my life was my pass Pastor, I will not mention her name but instead I will tell you how she blessed me. She had an illness that made her wheelchair bound for over 2 years, she also had surgery to remove both knee caps (all due to the same illness) I watched this lady jump, shout, run and dance before the Lord EVERY Sunday. Although I new her testimony, it was just that, HER testimony. Her words pressed deep within my heart and now 2 years later I understand why. Listen, people are placed in our lives for a reason.
I know that I will one day walk independently of my cane and the pain. This is just a small set back...I'm going to be ok...I know I am. Now take that to the bank!
